New to this platform, but not to caregiving. I am a California-registered Home Care Aide with 30+ years of hands-on experience providing private-duty, live-in, and extended-hour care for seniors and adults with changing and complex needs. My experience includes Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, cancer and recovery care, cardiac and pulmonary conditions, aphasia, cognitive and behavioral changes, limited mobility, fall risk, and non-ambulatory care. I have also assisted with oxygen equipment, catheter care, Hoyer-lift transfers, and feeding-tube support under nurse direction. My strength is noticing changes others may miss and remaining calm when care becomes more demanding. I am experienced with confusion, agitation, paranoia, resistance to care, and communication difficulties, using reassurance, redirection, patience, and familiar routines to preserve safety and dignity. I provide personal care, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility and transfer assistance, fall prevention, medication reminders, nutrition and hydration support, meal preparation, transportation and medical appointments, companionship, and observation and reporting of changes in condition. I am especially interested in a long-term private-duty or live-in arrangement with a family seeking continuity rather than a revolving door of caregivers. I take the time to know the person, their routines, preferences, abilities, and changing needs, while communicating clearly with family members and other care professionals. For the right family, my goal is not simply to fill a shift. It is to become a dependable, trusted presence who provides consistent care as needs evolve over time.
