About
I am a senior who enjoys caring for fellow seniors. It is a calling, you either have it or you don’t. I believe we arrive in the world with love, respect and dignity. We are entitled to live our life however long, with the same rights. Life is a journey filled with unknowns. Not every clients needs are the same. Being an older caregiver has had rewarding experiences for me and my clients. Relatability, empathy, communication and trusting relationships. I believe there should be laughter and joy each day. We share memories that are dear to them, exercises and social interactions are key to their happiness. Dementia and Alzheimer’s is an unrelenting diagnosis. My last 3 clients were afflicted with this disease. Together with family members and friends we navigated the stages. I seem to have the ability to help them with their behavioral issues in a way they can understand. Their journey is not their choice. Together we fill our days with what they want to do within their mental and physical capabilities. I only take 1 client at a time. This provides my full attention is on them. I enjoy being a caregiver, retirement is not in my immediate plans. I have too much joy to share with others.
